“ I visit Thanh Huong a lot and the banh mi's are very good! We usually get the chicken banh mi or the Chinese sausage/fried egg banh mi. They are great portions and the bread is amazing. It is a great go to spot. This trip I got the shrimp spring rolls. It comes with 3. These spring rolls were good, but the shrimp was small. The spring rolls also were full of bean sprouts and mint but I wish there was more noodles inside. The parking lot is small, but they have a private lot. They also have seating inside and other hot fresh food. ”
“ My go to spot for banh mi whenever I'm in the area. The sandwiches are always consistent, made fast, and perfect for a quick bite. Their paté is the best I've had, and I haven't found another place that does it better. The baguettes, protein, and produce are always fresh--I've never had any complaints about this place. ”
“ I've been coming to this banh mi place since I was a kid, and I have always loved them! Every banh mi I get has great proportions, yummy taste, and is just so good. They really do pack it in, and it's a pretty large baguette too. Even after moving out of the bay, I'll always come back here whenever I'm in the area. Parking is never an issue, and the service is good. I never really stay inside to eat, but every time I go, it's pretty clean and everything is organized well. I know that whenever I'm in San Jose/Milpitas area, this will definitely be one of the stops I go to. It's also great to bring along if you're headed to SJC! I'll definitely keep coming back. I've already brought friends and they've also always really enjoyed their experience here. SOOO GOOD. ”
“ Been coming here since the 90s and it is still my favorite banh mi place. In my opinion they have the best pate as it is on the more peppery and best in house made mayonnaise. I love that they make a majority of their products compared to other delis that get them from random vendors throughout the week. Because they make their own stuff, the quality and freshness can't compare to other places. I used to frequent the Senter location but since that has been closed down I still make a journey to capital Ave to stock up whenever I'm in the area! ”
“ We're visiting San Jose for a few days and have had Vietnamese food at different restaurants for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. This is by far the most delicious and authentic place that we've visited. Looking at the items for picking (in pictures), they looked exactly like how I had remembered growing up in Ho Chi Minh City. The dishes were very authentic and tasty. We highly recommend the fish cakes. ”
“ Best viet sandwich in the South Bay!! I got the classic banh mi thit nguoi (cold cuts) and my cousins got a cooked meat sandwich. They were DELICIOUS--cousins were also pleasantly shocked. Better than Lee's (commercialized, thin baguette) and Thanh Huong (I really like this place too) but the bread here is SO fresh and airy and delicious. We all loved the bread. Meat ratio was top tier, wish I had more veggies (lol). Coffee was also strong and delicious. Service was good--workers are straight to the point and quick. Ambiance could be better but it's a typical lil viet shop/"corner store" I'd say where they sell food but also pre-packaged foods here and there. They had seating and AC so cant complain! ”
“ TL;DR: - a hole-in-the-wall establishment with authentically made and modestly salted dishes. soups are a hit or miss but overall it's a great place to stop by for homey Vietnamese food on a dime. parking: - a small parking lot but it's more of a take-out spot so parking spots quickly open up. wait time: - about 5 minutes. ambiance: - a hole-in-the-wall establishment that services your usual Vietnamese dishes and treats. food: [Worth It] - ca kho: perfectly salted! would get this again if in the area. - beef stew: came with carrots, tendon, and beef! very hearty and filling. - baguettes: freshly made and a steal of a price. - pickled carrots and radish (dua mon): these are traditionally made to be eaten with the banh tet. this by far was one of the best dua mons I've ever tasted! And it comes with a glass mason jar too. - stir-fried tofu: well-marinated and tasty. - stir-fried bamboo shoots: not overly marinated as you can taste the fresh bamboo shoot. - stir-fried chayote: crunchy and made for a great side. - chicken drumsticks: well marinated and cooked! definitely one of my favorite dishes here so far! [Good to Try Once] - canh chua: a bit too bland but great if you're just looking for a side soup for a stronger meal. - banh tet: sadly I've had better as the meat here was minimal and dry. - thinly sliced thit kho: this was dry but well marinated ”
“ I've never been shy when it came down to voicing my dislike for Thanh Huong. No matter how many times I've attempted to give the business the benefit of the doubt, I am repeatedly reminded of my poor decision whenever it came to purchasing Vietnamese sandwiches here. While I have no clue as to "when" and "why" TH decided to make changes, I am absolutely ecstatic by the improvement in quality and taste. The last 2 visits have been greatly enjoyed but that didn't mean my skepticism disappeared. I held back from updating my previous 1 star review due to that specific reasoning. I reasoned the delicious sandwiches were simply due to luck. This most recent visit has sealed the deal and has officially converted me into being a fan!! Forreal, Forreal- I never thought I'd say that!! As of now, my one and only go-to Banh mi is ba chi [pork belly]. Every purchase has been thoroughly enjoyed and at times, I've lucked out with the baguettes being pretty loaded!! The meat is tender and the infamous pink layer of skin is nice and chewy- exactly what I look for when it comes to well cooked ba chi. 4/5 stars. One day I'll venture out and sample different offerings but for now, why fix something that isn't broke??!! Extra points because TH's nem chua [cured pork or beef] is absolutely delicious. ”
